Sometimes the road just seemed to get away from her. Plus, they were now on a windy country road that Dean probably didn't know too well. She glanced back in the rearview mirror to make sure he was still there, and sure enough the Impala was there. The blonde grinned and looked back at the road. The twenty minute drive seemed to drag on, but they finally got to her home. She pulled in the gravel driveway and parked on the side of the house. No use pulling into the garage now. Tally noted that one of the farm hands trucks was pulled up next to the barn. She stood up taller, trying to get a peek into the barn but couldn't see anything.
Tally looked to her left when she heard Dean pull up. She walked over and smiled. "Well, here we are." She paused briefly to look around. No point in really giving him a quick tour, she supposed. So she just pointed out things briefly. "There's the barn, the pastures, and the arenas off in the back a little bit. I'd give you a tour but that could take forever. The property looks a lot bigger than what you see here. It's probably too much to explain even in a whole day!" she joked, admiring the facility. "Oh, come on in." Tally said and walked up to the house then opened the door and stepped in, waiting for Dean.

Dean watched Tally walk to her vehicle and get in before he climbed into the Impala. The car was in pristine condition, a real beauty. She started up immediately and purred as they pulled out of the parking lot, following the blonde to her home. The roads were classic country roads- long, thin, windy, and with plenty of loose gravel scattered around. While most drivers unfamiliar with the territory would take it slow, Dean had no troubles keeping up with Miss Montgomery.
Finally, after what seemed like forever but was really only twenty minutes, they pulled into a driveway. The house sat front and center, with the barn behind it, and pastures upon pastures behind the barns. The only other vehicle in sight was a truck parked next to the large barn. Tally looked his way as he pulled up, and Dean smiled at her. She quickly pointed out the obvious to him, as well as saying the arenas were behind the barn, too. She explained that a tour would take too long, but she would give one later. After this, she invited him in. Following her example, Dean walked up the steps and through the opened door, shutting it behind him.
"So, I feel like I should warn you. A pretty young lady like yourself shouldn't invite men to their houses. Not if they've just met." he cautioned her. "But its okay because I'm an exception. I've already informed you that I won't ravish you. Unless you ask for it," he said. And if I get my way, you will. Soon. "Anyway, what exactly happened? Can you tell me everything, or does the detective have you on lockdown?" he asked.
Dean made himself comfy on the couch, hoping Tally would join him. He didn't go so far as to put his feet on the coffee table. That's just rude. Dean may be a ladies man but he is a polite one, if such a thing exists.

Her father had instilled the good ol' fashioned principle of locking the door whenever you came in. He had been on her about that lately too because he was afraid someone would come in the house. So she was extremely cautious nowadays, if not for her benefit than for her fathers. She smirked at Dean's comment. "Oh, don't worry. Daddy dearest got me some protection. If all else fails, I've got a shotgun hidden down here." Something else her father had recently implemented. Truth be told, there were multiple guns in the house. They'd all been checked out by the police and such, but she didn't want to freak Dean out. Tally doubted that he'd be freaked, but you could never tell nowadays. Especially when your dad was a murder suspect. "And I'll keep that in mind." the blonde stated with a wink.
She walked into the living room and looked around. It didn't look like anybody was home, but the house was so large there could be someone anywhere. The last thing she wanted to do was give her mother a heart attack by spotting her daughter in their home with a complete stranger. Tally turned to see that Dean was on the couch and was already asking her about the case. He looked at ease, like he belonged there. She had a feeling he looked that way anywhere he went. "Well, it's a long story..." She trailed off and walked over to the couch, plopping down near Dean and turning to face him. "I can't tell you everything. The cops made that much clear to me. I don't know how much you know, but I'll tell you what I can." Tally paused, wondering where to start.
"Well, about two months ago we woke up and went into town only to find out that a murder had happened over at Cedar Creek. We thought it may have been one of the Kingston's, but it was... well, you know." Tally swallowed and shifted in her seat uncomfortably. "By the way, I'm sorry about your cousin. It must be hard." She didn't really know how close Dean was to him, but he was still family. It must have mattered. "Um... well, the town was a bit of a mess that day. Everybody seemed to have their own theory. He was shot, twice. Other than that we didn't really know anything until the cops showed up on our front porch the next night at like, 12 AM." Tally clenched her hands angrily, thinking about that night. She continued, trying to calm down. "They brought my dad in for questioning. He was arrested and then released on bail. We had a good lawyer." she added the last part bitterly. They shouldn't have needed one at all. "And since then, the cops haven't moved on from my father. I mean, there's gotta be other people who could have done it. My dad had no reason to kill a man he didn't even know." Tally leaned back on the couch and closed her eyes for a second. "And this has been a pain in the ass ever since." she looked back at Dean, wondering if he knew anything besides what she had just told him. She could only hope.

Dean watched Tally as she moved around the house, starting with shutting and locking the door. Well, this could be fun, he thought with an internal snicker. He approved of her cautiousness. Until the girl started talking about guns. "Girl that knows how to use a gun? That's hot." he commented, straight-faced. He wonder what type and how many were kept in their arsenal. She then walked into the living room, surveying it as if it was the crime scene. He assumed to make sure everything was in place and no one was home. She sat down next to him, and he wore a self satisfied grin as a result.
She told him what she could about the case, expressing sympathy for his loss along the way. "Thanks for the concern, but don't worry about it. I hadn't talked to him in years. And the whole thing with your dad seems weird. Like they already knew it was him, how I'm not sure. But they must have had some pretty convincing evidence to arrest him on the spot." He thought about all the possibilities for a moment. "We need to gather information of our own. "Do you know anyone who was at Kingston's that day? We need a list of everyone who was there twenty-four hours before the murder. And I'll need your help to make a list of anyone who might not have been happy with my cousin. Maybe a girlfriend, or an ex. A business partner. It could be anyone. Do you have a pen and some paper? We should probably write this down." Please with his current thought process, he waited for her to take over. "We'll figure it out, Tally." Dean looked into her eyes and gave a genuine smile.
He settled back against the couch and prepared for a long night with his new favorite girl.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]and you can't hold me down Tally grinned. "Glad you like. Mossberg 500 Special Purpose. Dad taught me when I was 15. Here's to hoping I won't actually have to use it." she stated. She had no qualms about using a gun if she had to, but Tally would rather not have to be ever put in that situation. Fingers crossed.
Good, so he's not too upset about it then. Tally thought to herself as she listened to Dean talk. But he definitely wanted to figure this whole thing out, just as much as she did. That would prove to be an asset in this whole thing. "Oh, yeah. Supposedly they got an anonymous tip about it- specifically what the tip was I don't know. The cops won't say. At least nobody will tell me. Big help they are. But it probably had something to do about this stupid feud... they think my dad did it as a way to get back at the Kingston's. Which is fucking stupid, pardon my french." she hissed. The fact that they were looking into an anonymous tip in a town divided over two families was stupid, in her opinion. For all anybody knew, it could have been anybody in town who just wanted to see her dad get in trouble. They got their wish.
Tally sighed. "To be honest with you, my dad didn't really want me to get involved in this whole thing. He thinks it'll keep me safe, not knowing. Therefore, he won't tell me much. But it's a pain. I want to know." she muttered and ran her hand through her hair. She knew her dad was coming from a good place, but he had to know that sooner or later she would come up with something on her own.
"Damn, you certainly know what you're doing. Well... right. Pen and paper." The blonde got up and went to the desk in the corner, grabbed some pen and paper and sat back down on the couch, sitting just a tinier bit closer to Dean than she was before. "Ok. Well, the usual staff would have been there. All the Kingston family..." she thought hard. The Kingston's were a pretty big family. And from what she knew, there was a lot of drama happening from the inside. The usual backstabbing, cheating, you know. People could say what they wanted about her own family, but at least they all loved and cared for each other.
Tally began to write names down on a list and stopped, looking at the page. About ten people so far. "And, uh, about the enemies thing. A friend of mine heard that he was into some shady business. I have no idea what, but he made good money from it, I think. I mean, this is rumor mill stuff, but it kinda makes sense. Whenever I saw him he had really nice things, especially his car. He had a lot more than just your average stable hand should be able to afford, you know?" Well, Dean hadn't been here. So maybe he wouldn't. Tally sighed again. She felt like she was grasping at straws, but she had to at least try. His words offered her some consolation and she smiled back at him. "Thanks. I really hope so."

Dean wholeheartedly agreed with her standpoint on guns: great to know how to use them, bad to actually have to use them. "Okay, if we can, we need to find out exactly what the anonymous tip said. If we have details, we can prove a couple wrong and the whole case against your dad would fall apart with the tip discredited." He mused. "But what is the feud about? And surely it isn't as bad as the Hatfields and McCoys." He said, assuring himself more than anyone else.
"We'll have to see if we can get any more information from your dad. There isn't really a way around that. You're too involved already, keeping you in the dark won't help. It could even put you in danger if the true murderer is still around." This real feeling behind this thought struck Dean as the words left his mouth. Alarm followed quickly, then dissolved when he remembered her firearms.
He chuckled at her. "Of course I know what I'm doing. I read the Hardy Boys books when I was younger," he joked. Tally got up to grab a pen and some paper. His gaze followed her, making sure to watch her face once she turned around. He noticed that she sat closer to him now than she did earlier, and the observation made him happy. As she thought about the people who could have been there the day of the murder, Dean lost enthusiasm. That has to be about twenty people. Much more than I anticipated, he thought.
"Yeah, I figured he was up to something sketchy. My so-called inheritance definitely pointed towards that. Do you think you could get any more details from that friend of yours? That might help a lot." Dean said hopefully.

"Yeah, that would be the best thing. I have no idea how to go about doing it though." Tally picked at a stray thread on the sofa. She didn't think the police would tell her just because they asked her. Breaking into the police station seemed to spy-esque for her. Was it crazy that she felt like it was the only option? Yes. You are not getting this family into anymore trouble. she chided herself.
"Well, it's not nearly as messy as that. No murder up until now." Tally curled her legs up and leaned back, thinking. "It started a long time ago, though. Like, one hundred years ago, I think. And it was over land. Which is so dumb. But back then it was a big deal, I suppose. It just kept escalating over the generations, I suppose. The men of the family wouldn't let their kids forget the whole thing and so the feud just carried on. Recently there was something about Kingston trying to buy out a large plot of land on the edge of this property, but he obviously didn't succeed. But that just added fuel to the fire." Tally made a face. The whole thing was stupid in her opinion. But she had been raised to think a certain way of the Kingston's and because of that, she didn't trust them. Sometimes she wondered what life would be like if her family weren't feuding with one of the other most influential families in town. The thought seemed weird to her.
Tally felt her eyes widen at Dean's words. The real murderer? It may have sounded dumb, but she hadn't given that individual a second thought. It hadn't occurred to her that the real person who had killed Dean's cousin could still stick around. Maybe even be a person she'd known a long time. The thought made her shudder. "Wow. Haven't really thought about that. Tiny bit nerve wracking." she stated, running her hand through her hair nervously. But, like she said earlier. She had a gun. She would be good to go. Hopefully.
"Ah, I see. The Hardy Boys are the best teachers for this kinda thing." Tally teased. She glanced back down at the list. I wonder if they'd be able to sort this thing out. Yeah, right. she thought bitterly.
"Oh, really? Well, then. I guess her information was good. I'll definitely ask her about it again. But other than the business thing, I have no idea what he was like. I mean, if he was a sleeze ball then he must have had plenty of people who hated him. But I really wouldn't know. You might be able to guess that my Dad didn't really want me going over there much." Tally added the last bit sarcastically. The Kingston kids were her age- she went to school with some of them and had been friends for about a nano second. Then her father had cut that off. Not unlike any other event in her life.

"Well, you said it could be anybody. Is there anyone more likely to have called in? Maybe something happened recently and it pissed the wrong person off. Think about it." he said. It was simple to call in an anonymous tip. You could say whatever you want. If you're anonymous there are no consequences. What people don't realize is that it effects someone else's life. The only alternative to that would be digging around in the files, or paling around with the secretary to get to the files. Dean didn't like that option, but it was better than illegal activity. He hoped Tally would suggest it so he didn't have to, but wishes rarely come true without a shooting star.
"I think feuds over land are more common than you think. But of course this hits close to home so it would always be the most forefront in your mind." He mused. "And at least it hadn't escalated that far. That would be dangerous. He wondered how much of Tally's life had been altered because of this feud. How many times had she been told no, only because the other person was a Kingston? Dean couldn't imagine ever doing that to his own child, let alone because of a hundred year old feud.
Tally's eyes mirrored a deer in headlights when he talked about the real murderer. Something primal stirred within him when he witnessed her fear. She truly was scared of the thought, and for good reason. She ran her hands through her hair nervously. "Maybe I should pitch a tent in the yard while we're digging around. A little nightwatch never hurt anyone, right?" Dean suggested. If it would put her at ease, it would be worth it. And it would definitely make him feel better. He couldn't even think about staying in the house. One, they just met, and he would feel like he's imposing on her family. Two, she's too tempting to sleep under the same roof with.
"We can only hope that her information was good, and that she has more details. Maybe we'll hit the mark with it. I guess we have to cross our fingers and see." He said about this friend. Hopefully she wasn't just spreading rumors...

An old client, some weirdo in town, or maybe even some kid being an ass. But it just didn't make sense to her. "Up until this happened, nobody had a problem with him. Except the Kingston's of course." The blonde paused and sighed. "But it's possible that someone may have had a grudge against him for whatever reason and we just don't know. I don't even think most people have a reason for half the shit they do nowadays." she grumbled.
Tally pursed her lips in thought. This was looking hopeless all because of that damn anonymous tip. She duh her fingers into a pillow, aggravated. Then, she suggested what she thought of earlier. "Okay, I don't know how much expertise you have in this sort of thing, but do you think we would have to... "obtain" the records somehow? Or maybe you could talk to someone? You could use your irresistible charm and sweet talk someone into doing it." she teased but was barely speaking at normal level. Just saying it out loud felt wrong. She hoped that Dean would know what she meant, Tally didn't want to come outright and say "steal".
"Yeah. I mean, I'm used to it. It would just be nice to not have to worry about the whole thing. Especially now that someone's been killed. What a mess." Tally muttered and leaned back on the couch. Her head was spinning. There was really a lot to take in that she hadn't thought of before. But now that she was ready to take a more active role in proving her father's innocence, she was also ready to do whatever she had to.
She laughed at his offer but was secretly relieved by it. "Pitching a tent? I would feel horrible having you sleeping outside while I'm in here. That's not fair to you." Tally thought hard. Her father would sooner kick her out of the house than allow Dean to stay in it. "I mean, you don't have to stay here, really. But if you ever wanted you could spend the night in the office in the barn. It'd be better than sleeping outside. I'd offer you a room here, but..." Tally trailed off, hoping he would understand.
"She's an honest woman. Old family friend. I'll talk to her about it tomorrow, maybe over dinner or something." Right now it was looking like their best lead. Which wasn't saying much.

"I think we should start by making a schedule of where your father was the twenty-four hours or so leading up to the murder. Hopefully it will give us more insight as to what was going on, and it might give us proof that it wasn't him. Can't be in two places at once, right?" Dean asked. "It can't just be the Kingstons. Unless their kids are more troublesome than we thought?" he suggested. He sighed and ran a hand down his face, brushing against the rough five-o-clock shadow.
"Yeah I could always try that, but it is never a guaranteed in. Hopefully it works because if not I'll have to try to pick the locks. Don't know if that's any better." Dean sighed. Things were looking up, going swell, and now this roadblock. He hoped she didn't think less of him for using his "charm." Or for his questionable lock-picking skills. Then again, Dean was pretty sure she appreciated anything that might help exonerate her father. He'd bet Baby on that.
He couldn't imagine anyone restricting or restraining his freedom. The choices were his to make, and his alone. If he wanted pie for dinner, by God he's gonna have some pie for dinner. At twenty-five years old this pretty blonde spitfire still lived under Daddy's roof. Under Daddy's roof, under Daddy's rules. Well that's a major buzz-kill.Dean thought snidely. "I couldn't handle that. I would have up and left by now. How do you do it?" he asked Tally. She leaned back on the couch and looked thoughtful. Her brows furrowed and her gaze was concentrated. On what, he didn't know.
"Oh, a tent is what all macho men use. No need for you to feel horrible; I'm the one that offered to do it. It's definitely fair to me." He let her wonder about that for a moment. "If I'm stuck in the office, I'd be liable to break some glass throwing rocks at your window. If I'm in a tent they'll just wake you up." He smiled devilishly. She truly wanted to offer him a room in the house, but he understood very well that it was not her house and she did not have the right to do so. Daddy wouldn't be thrilled to come home and find a strange man sleeping down the hall from his precious little girl. Honestly, Dean couldn't blame the man. It's enough stress to worry about the murder investigation, but to worry about his daughter on top of that? Unacceptable. That's where he came in.
Tally confirmed the accountability of the source and let him know she'd look into it. "It's settled then. I think I've had enough of case talk this evening. Whatever shall we do now?" He asked, looking over at her slyly.

I suppose I could ask him, but his word probably isn't what we should go on..." Tally trailed off, feeling bad. In her opinion, if she wanted to know what really happened that day and where her father was, asking him would be the best bet. But since he was the suspect, taking his word would not be the best idea.
"Hmph. You have no idea. They're pretty messed up- but not because of my dad. Just major problems within the family." Tally stated dryly. The Kingston's business wasn't exactly a secret. Tally had to give them an A for effort when it came to trying to keep things under wraps. But unfortunately, nothing was ever kept a secret for long. She knew that from personal experience.
A pang of guilt swept over her as she watched Dean. He looked tired. But here he was in her house trying to figure this thing out. Tally knew that there was some benefit in it for him too, but a wave of gratitude swept over her. "Thanks again for doing this." she said with a small smile.
"Oh please. I know the secretary's a chick. It'll work, unless she's not into guys or completely stupid. Tally stated, twirling her hair in thought. "Is this you trying to be humble?" she teased. But still, in the back of her mind, she told herself there was always a possibility that they'd have to go about doing things the illegal way. Hopefully that wouldn't happen.
"How do you do it?" Tally paused and thought for a second before replying. "It's really not as bad as it seems... he's just been in over-protective mode since all of this has happened. I mean, I understand. I love him and I'll listen to what he asks of me. But not everything. I do have some freedom." she said, hoping her tone came across as joking on that last bit. Her father was really lenient with her generally, but since the murder he'd always tried to keep an eye on Tally. She supposed it was out of fear.
She laughed at his joke about breaking glass. "Well, if you insist. Eventually people are gonna start asking questions about the man sleeping in a tent in my yard, though." Tally joked, but she still felt bad. Maybe she'd be able to twist her fathers arm.
Tally paused. Oh, boy. "Well, good. Frankly I've had enough of that for the night. Uh..." she trailed off. "I dunno." she squeaked. Clearly, Dean had something in mind. You just met him! Her conscious glared at her. While this was true, another part of Tally wanted to shove her conscious in a cave and just follow Dean's lead. She sighed. Why did she have to make things so complicated?

"No offense, but asking him is probably not the best idea. We should ask the people he would have been with, and get a second person to verify it if that's possible. We want this airtight so no lawyer can get his fingers through a crack." Dean clarified. Generally, taking the suspect's word is not something a court would do. If the court wouldn't accept it, neither could they. If Tally wanted to solve this case as bad as he did they couldn't take any shortcuts.
Dean wondered what the Kingston family's secret might be. Sixteen and pregnant? No, she said the kids were her age, that wouldn't be scandalous. Drugs? Adultery? The list of possibilities went on and on, and he did not waste more time thinking about it. Obviously the family kept it hush-hush or even the newcomer would have known about it by now. This case just keeps getting more suspicious.
Tally looked thoughtful for a moment, and then she looked into his eyes before thanking him. "Don't think so highly of me, sweetheart. I'm in it for me, too, remember?" he quietly reminded her. Although his original intentions were to use her mind to help solve the case, to be honest he also wanted to use her pretty body. However, the longer he sat with her and conversed, the less that was true and the more he just wanted to put her as ease. It was wrong for anyone to feel uncomfortable in their own hometown, let alone their house. While he wouldn't mind laying her down, now this partnership was more about her peace of mind and his investigation. Dean wasn't sure exactly how he felt about that.
Tally scoffed at the notion that his 'charm' wouldn't work. "Nah, humble doesn't look good on me. I'm a realist, though. And this plan will fail if I say one wrong thing to her. I'd rather not have to pick the locks, though, so I'll do my best." he said genuinely. Dean tried to think of what he might say to this secretary, and his mind rebelled at the thoughts. Instead, it offered up an image of a pretty blonde, and options flooded in. Imagine that, he thought dryly.
"Oh, I see. I guess its different when you care about them." he mused. He wondered what freedom she was joking about. The devil on his shoulder threw out some possibilities and he shook the thoughts away.
The girl laughed about the rocks and the breaking glass, but Dean was serious. "Oh, trust me I insist. And people won't ask questions. They'll wonder and they might talk about it behind our backs, but they won't be brave enough to ask." he said. Obviously she was trying to make light of it, but something about it must not sit well with her. She'd have to tell him if that was true, but hopefully she wouldn't push the issue too much. He didn't want to upset her Daddy. Any man that taught his daughter to shoot was a good man, but sometimes they were a little trigger happy around anyone that showed an interest in their little princess.
Tally agreed that case conversation should be over for the evening. She thought of an option that reddened her face and she squeaked out a denial of possibilities. An internal war seemed to wage in her mind. "Look, I'm not trying to seduce you. If I was we'd both be naked by now." This line sparked his imagination and certain parts of him reacted. "I just didn't know if you had anything else you had to do tonight. Maybe you want to do something normal like play board games or have a drink. Or maybe you're just dying to tell me to get out." He suggested.

Tally sighed, feeling defeated. If they were gonna do this, it had to be done right. She wouldn't be halt-assing anything because she didn't want to screw it all up. But how could she find out where her father had been without asking him about it directly? I'm guessing I can look through some records for the credit card and see where he was like that. But the police have probably already done that. The blonde thought miserably.
"Don't think so highly of me, sweetheart. I'm in it for me, too, remember?" Tally offered another small smile and stifled a yawn. God, she was tired. "I know. But it's better than trying to do this alone. I wasn't really getting anywhere by myself." The young woman muttered, holding her head in her hands.
"I'd have to agree. Humble wouldn't suit you." Tally teased, but she thought of what Dean said. If charming someone didn't work, then they'd have to go the illegal route. "What if we get caught? I mean, I've never really picked a lock to a police station before... or anywhere, for that matter." She had tried to do so when she was younger, but it had failed miserably. The blonde could shoot a gun as well as anyone but ask her to pick a lock? Not her expertise. And she didn't even want to consider the possibility of letting Dean do it alone.
"Oh, they'll ask questions. But like you said, they won't say it to our faces. Most of them are spineless little shits." Tally stated. Woops, there she went with her language again. "But I'd be honored to have you camp out in my yard." she laughed. "But seriously, if you ever feel like you don't wanna stay outside just let me know. I'm sure I can fix something up with the parents..." Tally trailed off, hoping she was right.
At Dean's line about not trying to seduce her, she felt her face go red. Ugh, why do I always have to blush? Tally thought bitterly. It always gave her away, to her utter embarrassment. "R-right. Something normal." The blonde stuttered and thought. A drink would be nice. "Drinks. What would you like?" she practically flung herself off the couch and walked over to the mini bar in the corner. Personally, she was feeling some whiskey. She poured herself a glass and took a sip. The liquid left a warm feeling in her chest and she felt herself calm down just a little bit. "And I'm not dying to kick you out either. Hopefully I haven't given you that impression." Tally stated, taking another drink. Why the hell did he make her so nervous?

Dean breathed a sigh of relief as she agreed with him. Which in this case was a good thing, because it was the only way he would do it. They had to work together, but they also had to do it right the first time because in a murder investigation there are no second chances. She could probably get information from the credit cards, as well as the people he might have interacted with that day. It wouldn't be suspicious coming from her. Everyone would expect her to try to crack the case. Dean, on the other hand, might raise some eyebrows asking about Mr. Montgomery's whereabouts. Tally looked miserable, and he felt sympathy. She smiled at him and tried to hide a yawn. She's tired. I should leave soon so she can get some sleep, he thought. She admitted that having his help, even with a separate agenda, was better than trying it on her own. "You got us started. And you have the inside edge. I'd never get my hands on any of this information without you, so don't put yourself down now." He chastised her.
The pretty blonde went on to worry about getting caught. "Well, I haven't either but we've got to start somewhere. I'm not the best, but if its just a simple lock it'll be fine. I'm just worried that it might have extra security," he admitted. "I haven't had much time to think about it, but if I had to do it now I'd go myself. I can get in and out fast without worrying about you. But I doubt you'd agree to that without a fight, so I'd have you keep watch. Then if someone walked in you could ask where the restroom is or something. Just talk really loud and I'd know to get out and if I got caught you wouldn't be connected. Hopefully that would work but I'm not sure. The only illegal activity I've ever really experienced is underage drinking."
She finally agreed to let him stay in the yard, joking that it would be her honor. He disagreed; the honor would be all his. "Trust me, I'll be fine outside." he said. No need to aggravate the parents, especially since its their house and they may not even like the tent idea. Better take what I can get. "And if your parents flip out you can stay at my apartment. It's not huge but it'll do," he offered.
She blushed when he called out her wayward thoughts. She stuttered and decided on drinks. She got up quickly and walked to the mini bar, grabbing the whiskey. Dean walked up beside her and poured himself a small tumbler and took a sip of his own. She confided that she had no intentions of kicking him out. "Oh, no, you haven't. I was just giving you the option," he said. Then he moved in closer and whispered in her ear. "Why so quick to go for the liquid courage, darlin'?"

Thanks for the pick me up." she said, thinking again. She supposed Dean was right. But that still wouldn't stop her from being hard on herself. Still, his words helped a tiny bit. Tally hadn't thought that she could be that big of a help, but what he'd said was true. He wouldn't be able to get his hands on some of the information that she could. Now she didn't feel completely useless.
Tally raised her brow. "You're damned right I'm not gonna let you go alone. I'll be the lookout like you said. And I wouldn't know about how well their protection would be. Small town like this we don't really have all the fancy equipment other police departments have." She said. She remembered Bates griping about it one day. But then again, he'd come from the city so he was used to the best. Tally pushed him out of her mind again, focusing back on Dean. The thought of them tag teaming a break in at the police department kind of freaked her out, but also made her laugh a little bit. "It'll be interesting, that's for sure. But illegal. So let's hope your charms will work this time around." Tally said the words, but also found herself hoping it wouldn't work out. Damn, she was already feeling slightly jealous over him. Not good.
"Really? Only underage drinking? Why can I imagine you doing something else completely reckless?" Tally joked, laughing. When it came to underage drinking, she too was guilty as charged. But most people who she went to high school with drank as well as she did. The only difference was that she had been smart enough not to get caught. The town would have had a hay day with that one.
She smiled at his offer to let her stay at his apartment. "I'm sure it'll be just fine. Don't be surprised if I take you up on your offer, though. It'd be nice to get out once in a while. Thanks for the offer." Slow your roller, Tally! She bit her tongue, forcing herself to keep quiet. Really, she had just met him and was accepting an offer to come to his place sometime. What had gotten into her?
"Oh, how considerate." Tally said, quirking her brow and taking another sip of her drink. She looked down in her cup and furrowed her brow. The liquid was almost completely gone already. Jesus, slow down. she chided herself but found her hand reaching out for the whiskey again and pouring herself another glass as Dean came over and did the same. The blonde could drink, but whiskey tended to get to her a little faster than most. Unfortunately she often turned to a glass of it to help her grow a spine. Obviously that was the case right now, she noted miserably as her heart beat quickened.
"Why so quick to go for the liquid courage, darlin'? Shit. "Uh..." Tally trailed off, looking up at him. He was so close. She swallowed nervously and spoke again. "In case you haven't noticed, you make me a bit nervous. More than a bit, actually." Tally mumbled, feeling incredibly stupid. Usually she was able to hold her own around men. But this time was a little different, maybe because Dean was so forward. She didn't know. "But it's a good nervous." Oh, God. She needed to stop talking. Now.
