It was her own fault for leaving the Christmas shopping so late, she should have had all of this done months ago, but she didn't. She was too concerned with getting the divorce finalized and getting moved back from North Carolina to home. As much as she loved being near the ocean, she missed her crazy little small town too. She was glad to be home near her parents. It had been a long day already and they had only been in the mall for an hour. Most of that waiting in line so Madeline could tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas. Then they got pictures with the old man; she was so happy that she had happy children, Maddie wasn't scared at all, she was a little ham, but Charlotte was only ten months old and Eira knew that the probability of her youngest crying was a high one. Boy was she thankful when the baby just sat there wide eyed and smiling at the strange man.
With nothing accomplished at all, shopping at least, she knew she should have left at least Maddie with her mother, but she thought she could do it without the help of someone distracting her clever five year old. Who had mentioned several times to Santa all she wanted for Christmas was a puppy. Little did the girl know Eira already had the perfect one picked out for their small family. Well, two of them. There had been two puppies left out of the litter and they made her a deal, two Labrador puppies for the price of one, papered, up to date on shots, and even a two year health guarantee. She made sure that her protective three year old Doberman wouldn't mind having two rambunctious puppies around and it turned out that the dog was very protective of his two new sisters.
Sitting at a small table, Charlie bouncing softly on her knee as she got a bottle ready for the baby, keeping an eagle eye on her five year old who was off playing in the designated children's playground just off of the food court. As she sat there, after making sure her daughter was safe and putting Charlie in her stroller, so she could finish her bottle and hopefully nap for a little while, she looked at the Santa pictures that had been printed off just ten minutes prior. She smiled at the pictures; looking at her two beautiful daughters and secretly very thankful that they got her brown curls and blue eyes instead of their father's jet black hair and muddy brown eyes.
She put the pictures back in their protective envelope and back in the safety of her purse. As her blue eyes glanced around the play area she couldn't help but smile; there were at least four kids she could pick out from school. She had always planned on being a high school English teacher and she had done that in her first few years of teaching in North Carolina, but after going through her difficult pregnancy with Charlotte and the stress of the divorce, she was to be a second grad teacher for now. She loved reading time and dreaded the math, but it was simple so she gritted her teeth to get through it. She had spent the last week or so meeting and getting to know not only her students but also their parents. It was a odd time to start teaching during the school year, but she had been lucky to get the job and now was trying to get to know everyone. She could already spot the class clowns and the trouble makers of her second grade class, but all in all she pretty much loved them and it was an extra bonus that Maddie was only two doors away if she wanted to see her and vice versa.
Seeing that Maddie had run into a little girl from her Kindergarten class she smiled happily. She looked down to Charlie who had lost interest in her bottle and was now staring at her with those big blue eyes. She smiled brightly at her daughter, leaning down closer to her. Charlie was giggling happily as Eira grabbed her hands and started to pretend to eat them. She picked her youngest out of the the stroller, playfully tickling her before settling her down again, listening to her babble the word "mama" over and over again. She had learned to say the word a month ago, but it still made Eira beam. Of course now they were working on saying Maddie's name and Joey, the doberman, and the horses names of course but learning Maddie was the main one, since the five year old was a little hurt that her baby sister couldn't say her name yet.
Eira looked up to see the pretty five year old running towards her, gasping and panting dramatically for air. Eira smiled warmly at her daughter before reaching in the baby bag and grabbing the cup of apple juice out. "Here you are Maddie Bug." she said with a smile, kissing and then fixing the top of her hair. The five year old took long gulps of the juice before putting the cap back on. "Can I go play again mommy?" She asked, her voice soft and quiet. Eira nodded her head softly. "Yes, but we need to get going soon. Mommy has to buy a few things." She said softly. The five year old nodded and gave her a kiss on the cheek before she was off to play again. Sitting at the small table Eira could hear the giggles of her daughter's out of the others; sitting there she couldn't help but rock her youngest back and forth, seeing her bright blue eyes fighting to stay awake.

Talysyn Reine
Happily he had managed to get all of the gifts he needed to get for Christmas, but Jazmyn wanted to come to the mall, and of course, Talysyn couldn’t refuse her wishes. Parking his old blue Chevy truck he smiled as he looked into the deep, blue eyes of his seven year old. “Where would you like to stop first Jazzy?” She smiled as she unbuckled her seatbelt and knelt in the seat and looked over at her dad. “I wanna go to the arts and crafts store first, see if I can find some more coloring books and colored pencils!” Syn chuckled as he to unbuckled his seatbelt.
Together they got out of the old truck and in an instant Jazzy had his hand and was sticking by his side. Sure she was seven and sure she knew karate, but she was always most secure holding her daddy’s hand. Syn smiled as he locked the old truck’s doors and together he and Jazmyn entered the mall, a huge smile claimed her lips as her deep, blue eyes took in all the Christmas decorations. Talysyn laughed to himself he had momentarily forgotten how much Jazzy really enjoyed Christmas. Soon after stepping in though, Jazmyn was almost dragging him to the art store.
When she had successfully attained her spoils, Syn and Jazmyn were making their way to the other stores Jazmyn wanted to go to, they ended with the clothes in one of the big chain stores, where Jazmyn picked out a few new outfits for school, Christmas and when she went out riding with her daddy. Smiling Talysyn looked upon the dark brownish-blonde hair of Jazmyn and soon, her deep, blue eyes met her daddy’s and she stopped and so did he. She held his lighter blue eyes and tilted her head much similar to the way he would do before when he was thinking hard about something.
“What’s the matter daddy? You have that look again.” Syn smiled as he knelt before Jazmyn. “I was just thinking about how beautiful you already were and dreading when you become a teen and start Junior High and then High School. I’ll be lucky if you don’t give me a heartattack.” Syn smiled then and for a moment Jazzy’s eyebrows came together in a frown and then she burst out laughing and threw her arms around his neck. “Oh daddy! I would never try to do that to you.” Syn laughed and then scooped her up into his arms. “So, shall we get lunch?” Jazmyn nodded as the pair headed to the food court.
After lunch, Jazmyn decided she wanted to go play for a little bit in the playground so from the food court, she ran to the playground, kicked off her winter boots and then spotted a familiar face just as Talysyn joined her at the edge. Jazmyn jumped up and ran across the playground and paused, “Hai Ms. Pryce!” Then with a laugh she bolted back into the playground and searched out some friends from school. Talysyn smiled and shook his head a little as he took the bench beside the woman and rested back against the bench as his eyes followed Jazzy’s every move. While also alert to the surroundings around him. “Don’t get too crazy Jazzy! You just had lunch remember?!” Jazmyn smiled and looked to him and nodded before returning to her play.

Lunch had been ordered and Eira had wrangled Madeline to the table. Eating their lunch and it didn't take long for the five year old to lose interest in sitting still. "Mommy, can I go play?" She asked looking at her with big blue eyes. Eira smiled at her daughter and nodded her head softly. "Yes, you may..Please be careful." She said softly to her before watching her run off. She watched her carefully; hearing a familiar voice and her surname she couldn't help but smile. She looked over seeing the little girl running to the playground. "Hi Jazmyn." She said happily. She liked that her students, some of her students, would say hi to her out in public or that they could even recognize her outside of school.
She looked down at Charlotte as the infant slept. She couldn't help but smooth her brown hair down, hearing the male's voice near her; she couldn't figure out why it sounded so familiar to her. She glanced over, she hadn't gotten to all of the parent teacher conferences yet, but she didn't see why this couldn't be a time to introduce herself. She had to do a double take, seeing the man. Now she knew why his voice sounded so familiar. She had a small smile on her lips now. "Oh my gosh! Talysyn? Talysyn Reine?" She questioned, her blue eyes suddenly brighter. Her voice excited and she practically gushed his name.
There was no way that was really him; it had been years since she had seen him. She was twenty-one when she graduated from college and they had been in the same graduating class. She wondered, if it really was him, if he would remember her. She was three years older now, then again she wasn't sure if she had even changed that much. Maybe her waist line after having two kids. She knew for sure she looked a lot happier.
She looked at him carefully now, studying his face amazed by the fact that her old college friend was sitting right next to her. Her mind suddenly went to years prior; she had been heavily pregnant with Maddie, she had just gotten back from the doctor and had found out that she was having a little girl. Of course Carson, her husband, didn't show up to the appointment like he promised he would. She desperately needed to tell someone, she was practically bouncing with excitement. She just so happened to sit next the young man in a writing class. She shyly started to gush about how she just found out she was having a girl and then proceeded to apologize for gushing and bothering him. After that they seemed to become friends, she confided in him about her marriage and then about being a mother. She wouldn't admit it, not back then at least, that she had formed a little crush on him, back then she pushed it off as her crazy pregnancy hormones.
Those all just seemed to be distant memories now. She had lost contact with him after graduation and she just got so busy with raising her daughter, working, welcoming another daughter, and her divorce. He had been one of the farthest things form her mind, but now it was just amazing to her that they were here, in the same town, at the same mall, sitting next to each other. She suddenly because self conscious that maybe he wouldn't remember her she wasn't Eira Miller anymore, she had gone back to her maiden name after the divorce. She wanted to apologize now, possibly run and hide because there was no way that the world was this small.

Jazmyn smiled as Ms. Pryce said hello and then trotted to catch up with a friend and watched as her father took an empty seat beside her. Talysyn smiled and watched his daughter as she went about playing. Then a voice rang out toward him and for a moment, he was back in college. Oh my gosh! Talysyn? Talysyn Reine? He turned his light blue gaze toward the speaker and his eyes brightened, “Long time no see Eira. You’re looking quite well. And who might this pretty little girl be?” Syn asked as he looked down at the baby in her arms.
He remembered back to when they were both in class together, he remembered her excitement at finding out she was having a little girl, he remembered how she soon after apologized for her gushing. Even now he chuckled softly at the memory. Had that many years really passed from when he first saw the lovely young woman in his writing class that woman that he had developed a crush on while they were both in their own relationships at the time? Tilting his head in that way that he always did when he was thinking about something he turned his light blue gaze from Eira to Jazzy and back again. There was no way it could be her.
But truthfully, it was her, he remembered eyes and hers were very memorable. It was her, it had been so long since he had seen her, he’d lost her contact information and after they graduated, they’d lost contact. But now, it seemed that fate wanted them to find one another again, in this same small town, in the same mall, on the same day, both of them for their own reasons but both of them here with their kids. Talysyn smiled warmly toward her as he continued to study her for a few brief moments before Jazzy’s voice rang out and he looked to find her charging toward him.
She was laughing so he knew it was nothing bad, but he perked right up as she came to a halt before them, a broad smile on her lips. “Daddy? What is Santa going to get Weaver and Cypress and Phantom for Christmas?!” Syn laughed as he looked to Jazmyn and then leaned forward and whispered in her ear, “I’ll bet he’ll be giving them peppermint sticks, new halters and new blankets.” Jazmyn squealed in delight and bolted back to her friend and Syn returned his attention to Eira with a gentle smile and laugh. He should ask her to accompany him on a trail ride, so they could reacquaint with one another. But for now, it was togetherness at the mall.

Eira smiled at him, having to stop herself from hugging him. She looked down to Charlotte who was still asleep. She looked back up at him after staring at her baby girl for a moment. ”This is Charlotte..she’s ten months old…” She said softly. She couldn’t help but point out her oldest daughter. ”The little one, right there.. That’s Maddie.” She said with a gushing smile. She knew that he would remember, that was how they met after all. ”She’s five can you believe it?” She said with a small laugh. Thinking about it was sure that he probably didn’t care or wasn’t concerned about the age of her children. It still was so surreal to her that it was just five years ago that she was sitting in class next to this man and was often rubbing her belly.
She couldn’t help but watch him, the way that he was watching her. Her gaze was broken when she heard the little girl’s voice. She couldn’t help but watch the father and daughter interact together and the way she squealed happily then she was off again. She couldn’t help but laugh softly a small smile on her lips. She looked out to see his daughter playing then her eyes went to Maddie. She looked back at him. ”I can’t believe this.. It’s just utterly amazing.” She said with a happy grin. ”I would have never made the connection. Jazmyn is your daughter. I’m her new teacher!” She said with another grin.
Literally her mind was blown. She picked up her styrofoam coffee cup and took a sip of the black coffee. She had always been a coffee drinker nothing had changed in that area, when she was pregnant she was usually in a little more than unpredictable mood because of the hormones and the lack of coffee. She looked at him, her blue eyes still dancing, it was clear that she still couldn’t believe it was him, that he was there. ”Christmas shopping?” She asked with a smile. It clicked in her mind that Christmas shopping was the only reason she was here. Now she was very thankful to herself for putting the shopping until last minute, if she hadn’t she probably wouldn’t be there.
She moved to put Charlie in her stroller again, getting her settled carefully and covering her with a small blanket so she wouldn’t get chilled. When the baby the settled and still sleeping. She smiled looking to Syn, she couldn’t help herself as she leaned over and have him a half hug. She was generally a hugger, so she just couldn’t help it. Plus she was still in somewhat of a shock. She righted herself and smiled sheepishly. ”Sorry, it’s just so great to see you…I really can’t believe it.” She said softly to him.

Syn smiled as he listened to Eira speak, This is Charlotte...she’s ten months old… Syn nodded as he smiled and watched her point out another child in the play area, The little one, right there…that’s Maddie. He smiled as she did and nodded a little as she spoke again, She’s five can you believe it? Syn chuckled a little and then nodded as he spoke, “She’s pretty, so is Maddie. Your Maddie is five years old, Jazmyn’s seven, so yes, I can believe it though it is a bit strange.” He smiled then and then laughed as he watched her observe Jazzy and him interacting. Then he watched as she looked at the children and then looked back at him as she spoke, I can’t believe this…it’s just utterly amazing. I would have never made the connection. Jazmyn is your daughter. I’m her new teacher! Talysyn laughed softly as he answered her, “It is quite amazing. Neither would I, I did wonder how she knew your name when she saw ya though. I guess you’re being her teacher would make perfect sense.” Relaxing a little against the back of the bench he sipped on his soda from lunch and his deep, blue eyes followed their children.
Christmas shopping? He looked back Eira and smiled laughing softly, “Naw…Jazzy just wanted to come to the mall get some more coloring books and colored pencils, and she got a few outfits. We did our Christmas shopping a while back. She wanted to get Grandma and Grandpa’s gifts before the Christmas shopping rush hit.” Then he smiled again as he watched her settle Charlotte in the stroller. “I will admit, I do miss Jazzy being that young…every once in a while. Now I worry that she’ll give me a heartattack when she starts junior high and high school as pretty as she is already…it wouldn’t surprise me.”
For a moment, Syn was shocked at the hug, but then with a smile, he returned the hug as she pulled away again. Sorry, it’s just so great to see you…I really can’t believe it. Smiling a little Syn shook his head a little, “Don’t be sorry. It’s great to see you again too Eira. Hey, I would love to catch up some more. Do you have horses at the stables?” He asked with a soft smile as he heard the soft padding of Jazmyn’s feet as she made her way over excited to get back and take out Weaver for a ride or to send her through Gymkhana paces with her daddy. He smiled as she climbed into his lap and sat down, her smile bright and wide as she looked between the pair.

Eira smiled at him with a small laugh, “I think you have a while yet before she becomes a heartbreaker.” She said with a small grin. ”But I know what you mean. They grow up way too fast.” She said softly. ”She’s going to start walking soon, she already stands without help, but she hasn’t walked yet… once she starts walking it’ll be fast after that.” She said softly, looking at the infant. She was excited to see her grow; watch her learn to walk, to run, see her ride alone for the first time, the first day of school.. but she could still be a little sad about it right?
She smiled at him and nodded her head softly. ”Yes. We have three out there.” She said softly. She looked to see Jazzy running over and climbing up into her dad’s lap. She smiled at her, she glanced to see where Maddie was at and it happened the little girl was headed that way. She smiled and hoisted her daughter up into her lap as she reached her. She wrapped her arms around her and smiled at her, kissing her cheek softly. The little girl looked at the man and girl shyly. Eira smiled and smoothed her hair down. She knew that they would need to get going soon and she had to figure out a way to get shopping done with her curious five year old with her.
The little girl studied the two with her big blue eyes. ”Hi….I’m Maddie.” She said finally, deciding that she could talk to them. She was shy at times but she wasn’t afraid to talk to people. Eira smiled at her daughter. She loved how regardless of the lack of social face time she had with her father, she wasn’t as backwards as she could have been. She loved that she wasn’t afraid to talk to people, but at the same time it terrified her that something horrible could happen to her. The little girl rested her head in the crook of her mom’s neck, still looking at the two.
Eira looked at the two as well and smiled at Jazmyn. ”Jazmyn. Your daddy and I went to school together..” She said softly to the little girl, seeing her eyes going between her father and herself. She smiled a little more. She remembered seeing pictures of her when she was younger; she always showed off her ultra sound pictures and after she was born, showing pictures off of the new born. She was always the proud little mommy, showing off pictures to anyone who would pay attention. She still did it, but not as often. She did it with her horses and dog too and would probably do it when they got the puppies for Christmas.

Nodding, Syn listened as she spoke, I think you have a while yet before she becomes a heartbreaker. But I know what you mean. They grow up way too fast. She’s going to start walking soon, she already stands without help, but she hasn’t walked yet… once she starts walking it’ll be fast after that. Syn nodded again as he spoke. “Yeah, but I’m not so sure. They do grow up way too fast. It’ll be interesting and lovely when she does start walking but then you have to start making sure stairs and such are blocked so she doesn’t get hurt.” He smiled softly.
Then he nodded as she spoke again, Yes. We have three out there. Talysyn smiled as Maddie came and sat in her mother’s lap watching himself and Jazmyn. Then he smiled as she spoke, Hi….I’m Maddie. Smiling Syn introduced himself first then Jazmyn spoke, “Nice to meet you Maddie, I’m Jazmyn, my friends and Daddy call me Jazzy.” Then she gave the young girl her brightest smile as she cuddled in close to her father as her teacher spoke to her. Jazmyn. Your daddy and I went to school together… Jazmyn sat up a little straighter and looked to him. Syn nodded and Jazzy laughed a little. “That’s awesome! And now she teaches me.” She laughed again and then she half bounced in her dad’s lap. Talysyn laughed a little and spoke again. “Eira, would you and Maddie and Charlotte like to take a trail ride with Jazzy and I sometime?” Then he smiled again as he settled Jazmyn in his lap and stretched an arm along the back of the bench as they relaxed on the bench in the Christmas decorated mall. He hoped that she would agree to it. He hadn’t taken Cypress or Phantom out for a while and Jazzy hadn’t taken Weaver out for as long. He smiled and waited.

Eira thought about it, getting the house baby proofed again. She already had everything out of hand reach from the infant, child proof everything on all the cabinets, and everything. But the one thing she didn’t need to worry about anymore was baby gates up on the stairs. In North Carolina, the house they lived in was a huge; five bedrooms, three bathrooms, three stories and it was right on the ocean. Now she lived in a small single story, two bedrooms, one bathroom, with a nice fenced in yard. She wasn’t complaining, the huge house was always quiet and seemed cold. She loved her small house, it had a fireplace and Maddie had her own room right across from her room, so she could be there in a snap when she needed to.
Maddie smiled at them as they introduced themselves. ”Nice to meet you.” She said happily. Looking up at her mom through her lashes with a small smile on her lips, listening to the conversation but not really understanding. Eira smiled at her daughter before looking to Jazzy. She couldn’t help but laugh quietly at the girl. Listening to Talysyn, he wanted to go trail riding. She nodded her head softly. ”Sure, we’d love to go trail riding..” She told him quietly. She looked down to see her daughter’s blight blue eyes dancing and excited. She chuckled quietly at her. ”Not today sweetheart, mommy has a little shopping to do. Plus grandma and grandpa want to give you your presents from Santa early.” She said softly to her. She wasn’t about to rip the whole Santa thing away from her daughter, she couldn’t just tell her that she had to buy her Christmas presents.
She knew that she hadn’t been spending that much time with the horses, but now that the Christmas break would be going on she could spend time there. She wasn’t sure if she would bring Charlie or not, it was a little cold for her to go out for a trail ride, but she knew Maddie loved riding and was often switching from Ducky to Thud all the time. She was always amused when her daughter rode the OTTB, he was so big compared to her, she even looked funny riding the smaller Arabian. She smiled a little thinking about it then pulled herself back to the conversation, relaxing against the bench, playing with her daughter’s long hair. She was very content in her life at the moment an d she was happy that she had a familiar friend to talk to now. ”I can give you my number, I’d love to get out and go for a trail ride..and I know Maddie would also.” She said softly.

Jazmyn smiled as Maddie spoke and then Syn chuckled softly as he listened to Eira, Sure, we’d love to go trail riding…not today sweetheart, mommy has a little shopping to do. Plus grandma and grandpa want to give you your presents from Santa early. Syn saw the excitement in both Jazzy’s and Maddie’s eyes but he agreed with Eira, they couldn’t really go today. He smiled as Jazzy settled back down in his lap and her deep blue eyes shined brightly as she looked from her father to her teacher and back again, oh how wonderful it would be if her Daddy married her! A thought she daren’t speak aloud just yet. But her and her Daddy were gonna go riding with Ms. Pryce and Maddie soon! She nearly bounced in Syn’s lap but contained her excitement for fear of upending her Daddy’s drink all over them. Syn smiled as he looked down at his beautiful daughter in his lap. Then he heard Eira’s sweet voice once more, I can give you my number, I’d love to get out and go for a trail ride…and I know Maddie would also. Nodding Syn smiled and then answered, her, “That would be excellent Eira. Jazzy will be so excited to take Weaver out again, she’s missed being up on the mare’s back.”
With a vigorous nod of her head Jazmyn agreed with her Daddy. She really had missed taking her pretty chocolate colored mare out, and she knew Weaver had missed her company. Now that she had thought about Weaver again, she was ready to go back to the stables and spend time with her. She felt her Daddy trying to get at his cell and she moved so that he could get to it easier. When he had the cell open he looked back to Eira with a smile. “Go ahead, the phone is ready for me to record your number Ms. Eira Pryce.” Syn said, a teasingly playful note beneath his voice as he waited.

Eira smiled seeing how both girls lit up at the thought of riding. She shook her head a little at it, biting the inside of her cheek for a second not to laugh at the two girls. Listening to him agree, she couldn’t help but smile again. ”It would be wonderful.” She said softly. She looked to Jazzy, smiling a little more. ”Jazmyn, I would love to see your pony.” She said with a smile. ”Maddie rides my very first horse, maybe you two can ride together more, I know Maddie would like a riding buddy..” She said softly. She would never let her young daughter go out on a ride by herself, but she did let her ride in the arena alone, especially when she had Charlie with her. Even though the ten month old seemed to enjoy riding.
Eira smiled watching him pulled out his phone and she reached in her purse from the bottom of the stroller. She gave him a small grin at her teasing voice. ”678” She said softly, waiting for him to catch up before she started again. ”342” she added, looking at him with a small smile, a sheepish one. She had just switched her number and she hadn’t memorized it yet. ”90…umm.... 01” She said with a small quiet laugh. As she waited she had her phone ready and waiting to enter his phone number. ”Mr. Talysyn Reine.” She said with a grin, she looked at him through her thick lashes, her blue eyes still bright from the day’s events.
Suddenly Charlie stirred in her car seat, she suddenly looked like she could cry. Maddie instantly hoped down from the stop on her mom’s lap and looked over at her little sister, cooing to her like her mother would. Eira smiled warmly to her daughter, hearing Charlie let out a happy giggle. Eira smiled again and leaned down to pick her daughter up. ”Hello beautiful.” She said softly to her. She held the phone easily in her left hand, propping the baby on her knee. The infant looked at the two strangers, her eyes huge. She had a permanent smile on her lips, revealing five teeth. Maddie walked back to her spot next to her mom and smiled at Talysyn and Jazzy. ”This is Charlotte… we call her Charlie...she's my baby sister..” She said happily.

Talysyn’s face lit up as he watched Jazzy smile at the thought of riding Weaver again then he turned and looked at Eira as she spoke, It would be wonderful. Jazmyn, I would love to see your pony. Maddie rides my very first horse, maybe you two can ride together more, I know Maddie would like a riding buddy… Syn chuckled as he felt Jazzy bounce at the idea of a perspective riding buddy and look at him her blue eyes bright with happiness. Then he heard Eira speak again, 678 342 90…umm.... 01. Syn smiled as he hit the save button, successfully attaining an old friend’s number.
Then he chuckled as Eira then spoke to him for his number, Mr. Talysyn Reine. He paused for just a moment, remembering his phone number as he answered her, “The cell number is 678 213 8760. The home number is, 678 355 9513. Jazzy will usually be the one answering the home phone.” Syn told Eira with a half chuckle as he heard a soft sound from Charlie and then watched as Maddie got up and started to soothe her baby sister, Jazzy smiled and slid off her daddy’s lap to go over and look upon the little one with Maddie.
Syn smiled as he watched the girls gaze at the baby until Eira picked her up, Hello beautiful. Syn smiled again as he watched Eira prop Charlie up on her knee. He chuckled softly as her huge blue eyes drifted from him to Jazzy. Then he heard Maddie, This is Charlotte… we call her Charlie...she's my baby sister… Syn smiled as he spoke to Maddie, “I bet you’re going to make an excellent big sister and when you’re old enough an excellent mother, just like your momma.” He told her with a bright smile as Jazzy settled herself back upon the bench with them. “Perhaps we can take our ride this weekend, what do’ya think of that ladies?” He said teasingly as Jazzy laughed aloud her daddy was so amusing sometimes.

Eira's fingers moved quickly as she punched in both numbers. She couldn't help but smile a little, quietly chuckling. "I'll be sure to call the home number when I want to talk to Jazmyn." She said with a smile. As she watched her daughters interacting and Jazzy, her heart felt like it swelled up. It was so adorable. It showed on her face, her eyes softened and the smile on her lips became very soft and loving.
Eira laughed quietly at Syn as Maddie looked up at her with a bright smile. She kissed her forehead softly. "You are the perfect big sister.. But mommy begs you not to become a mommy for at least twenty years." She said with a small grin as Maddie gave her a confused look, but decided that she was happy enough with the perfect big sister part. She remembered Jazzy as she spoke and smiled at the little girl. "Jazmyn, I think you're a natural big sister, are you sure you and your daddy aren't hiding a baby somewhere?' She said with a soft smile.
Hearing about the riding, Maddie answered Syn before Eira could even process the question. "Yes! it was clear she realized what she had done, her face had a shocked look to it. Eira laughed quietly at her daughter. "This weekend would be perfect." She said with a smile. She was pretty thrilled to be able to spend time with her old friend.
She was thinking along the lines, that it would feel like forever before they would go riding. She bit her lip slightly as she thought it through. She loved to cook, she wasn't sure if it would be appropriate for the evening to happen. Sure they were friends, but she was still his daughter's teacher. She decided it might not matter anyways, they were just friends after all. "I don't know if this inappropriate or not.. But you and Jazzy like to come to dinner, before this weekend..It can be like a sort of play date.." She said softly, trying not to show that she might be a little bit nervous about asking them to come to dinner. She hoped the play date sounded legit, it was, but not the real motive of the dinner.

Syn smiled as he watched Eira put his numbers into her phone and then he chuckled as she spoke, I'll be sure to call the home number when I want to talk to Jazmyn. As she heard her daddy chuckle she laughed too. Talysyn saw her eyes and smile soften and then he tilted his head a little as the girls interacted with one another it really was a beautiful sight. A smile claimed his lips a moment as Eira spoke again, You are the perfect big sister…but mommy begs you not to become a mommy for at least twenty years.
Talysyn smiled a little as he heard Eira’s slightly teasing voice, Jazmyn, I think you're a natural big sister, are you sure you and your daddy aren't hiding a baby somewhere? Jazmyn raised an eyebrow like she’d seen her daddy do many a time and then laughed aloud, “I’m pretty certain we’re not Ms. Pryce.” Syn playfully rolled his eyes and laughed a little as he looked to Jazmyn and then he laughed as Maddie spoke up about the weekend ride, Yes! His eyebrow rose a little as he looked from Maddie to Eira as she spoke, This weekend would be perfect.
Jazzy’s eyes lit up as she listened to the word exchange between the adults. She wanted to ride so badly. She watched the adults for a moment, then she turned away and wandered to the nearby water fountain and got a drink. Her daddy watched her a moment and then he listened as Eira spoke again, I don't know if this inappropriate or not…but, would you and Jazzy like to come to dinner, before this weekend…it can be like a sort of play date… Syn considered this a moment and then heard the soft patter of Jazzy coming back and then he smiled as he asked if she’d want to go to dinner at her teacher’s house. Jazmyn agreed in a snap and Syn smiled, “Sounds good Eira. When were you thinking?” He asked and smiled, waiting.

Eira smiled and laughed quietly at the duo as she teased them and then their reactions were just priceless. "Oh. Well I suppose I could share Charlie with you if you like." she said teasing them. Maddie looked at her mom with big blue eyes filled with concern. "Mommy, you wouldn't give Charlie away would you?" She said in her tiny voice, which was full of concern that Eira was being serious and that she wouldn't have her baby sister anymore. Eira looked at her eldest with a soft smile, she smooth her hair back and kiss her forehead softly. "Of course not darling. Mommy was just teasing, I would never give Charlie away." She reassured her daughter. By the looks of her, Maddie wasn't entirely sure if she should believe it, looking from Charlie to her mom, and then to Talysyn and Jazzy. Her face full of concern. Eira couldn't help but chuckle quietly and hold her daughter close to her, reassuring her with her hug that her little sister was safe.
Eira wasn't entirely sure what she was getting herself into. She couldn't help but wonder if he was wondering about her husband, ex now but she hadn't told him that yet. Not directly at least. Wondering if he made the connection that she didn't have the same surname as she used to when she first met him. She had no clue what she was getting herself into. She didn't want any of them to get the wrong idea; what if Jazmyn or Maddie got the wrong idea about it. She wasn't sure what they would think or if they would absolutely hate it. She knew that Maddie didn't absolutely understand why Carson wasn't around anymore, but it wasn't really like he had been around when they were together and she had stopped asking about him, only ever few months it was like she remembered that he dad wasn't around anymore. They had only been divorced a few months now, but had been separated for almost a year.
She realized that she was the reason for the silence between them and she gave a sheepish smile. "When ever is good for you two.. Just tell me what you would like for dinner, I can get supplies if needed." She told him quietly, finally answering the question. She knew tonight would be out of the question, since it sounded like they would be going to the barn and she still needed to buy Christmas presents. Plus her parents would be coming over to give out presents that night, who knew how long they would be at the house for. Maddie looked hopeful, clearly over the uncertainty that Charlie would be given away. "Mommy what about dessert?" She questioned with a happy little grin. Happy that she would have someone to play with that knew how to walk and play correctly.
