The tall man muttered under his breath, dragging his heels as he walked around the shop floor. He scowled at the rows upon rows of brightly coloured trousers, t-shirts with cutesy slogans and little waistcoats that wouldn't do a darn thing to keep the cold out. All he needed was a good leather jacket - was that really such a ridiculous ask? He raked a hand through his mop jet black hair, squinting at the available jackets as if one to his liking would suddenly appear out of nowhere. The only one that would come anywhere close to doing it's job was a dodgy looking shade of mustard. Flipping over the price tag, his blue eyes widening with incredulity. "200 freakin' dollars?!" He exclaimed, a little louder than he'd meant to. "Who the hell--" The man broke off mid-sentence as he realised the entire populace of the shop was staring at him. "Sorry." A sheepish grin spread across his lips, and he dipped his head bashfully, returning to his hunt for a jacket.
Gabe stormed out of the store, grumbling under his breath. He guessed he'd just have to freeze to death now - he'd rather do that than wear one of those stupid jackets anyway. Despite the summer heat, Gabe often found that the insanely early mornings he spent down at the stable still held a pretty powerful chill. He strode through the shopping mall, feeling incredibly out of place in between the chattering droves of high school kids. If he'd spent the effort getting to this place, he might as well make a day out of it. A fast food store on his left caught his eye, and Gabe swerved through the crowds and into the doorway.
Gabe exited the store with a contented smile on his face and a burger in his hand. He pushed through the crowd, muttering half-hearted apologies as he bumped into people. After much deliberation, he picked a spot on one of the benches at the side of the mall, as far away from the masses as possible. With a satisfied sigh, he sat down on the bench, leaning his back against the wall. Gabe bit into the cheeseburger, and began to slowly devour it as he watched passers by. Hundreds of vacuous faces walked past, consumed entirely by their trivial conversations. Talk about the latest trends, who kissed who and whether to get the dress in pink or blue reached his ears, and Gabe found himself rolling his eyes at the superficial nature of the people around him. He hated to admit it, but he knew that he indulged in the same kind of conversation - hearing it from others made him realise how stupid it all was.
Not wanting to become completely absorbed by dissecting the inner workings of the human mind, Gabe stood up and tossed the burger wrapper into a nearby trash can. For a moment, he contemplated whether it was worth staying any longer; he wanted nothing more than to just go home and sleep. But, he still needed a jacket, and sitting at home wasn't going to magic one up. Sighing, he turned on his heel and began to walk along the mall. open to everyone <3 |

Aria RoseIt was still blazing hot out as she made her way into the one and only mall in town. She really was not on the hunt for anything in particular, mostly just to get out of her house and something to do. A small sigh was released as her deep brown eyes searched the area, looking at all the different stores. She stepped into one that may have held her interest. She searched through the racks of colorful clothes, but nothing really held her interest at the moment. This store just wasn't her. She continued her casual walk through the mall, catching glimpses of what they were gabbing about. Most of it was pointless talk of what to get or what store to go to next. Yet another sigh was released as she weaved in and out of multiple stores. Again, she just wasn't here to buy anything mostly just waste time.
Aria had just decided to wonder around the mall. She slowly made her way to the food court and it was bustling with people. Her shy stature made it difficult to weave in and out of the crowd. Her eyes were aimed down to the floor as she watched out for hoards of feet. "Excuse me" she whispered more than once. A crowd of this size just didn't suit her as she made her way to the outter part of the food court, and this was when she collided with a body as he was turning. I guess this is what happens when you walk around looking at her feet. She fell flat on her bottom with an Umph! Great how embarrassing is this? Her gaze quickly looked around hoping little to none had seen what had just happened. I mean really who collides with someone when there is hardly anyone around? Her gaze flickered upward and they landed up the one she had collided with. He was a good looking man and she began to stutter as she pulled herself off the ground. "I'm sorry.....wasn't really watching were I was going...sorry.." Her voice barely more than a whisper and trailing off. Curse her shyness! She started to turn, her face flush red with embarrassment. Her hair falling over her face as she struggled to look through all the brunette tresses. She really did not want to stick around to see what this guy had to say, she just wanted to get out of the situation.

Trying to conjure up the willpower to carry on through the mall, Gabe reminded himself that the sooner he bought something, the sooner he could get out of the place. He continued onwards, his pace marginally more enthusiastic, but his head remained tilted towards the floor. Abruptly shattering his revery, a person bumped into him and fell to the ground. "Dude, watch where--" Gabe's scowl faded and he broke off mid-sentence as the figure straightened up. Realising that he was dealing with a woman, his eyebrows slanted with concern. "Oh jeez, I'm sorry," He murmured. "It was my fault. Are you hurt?" Gabe asked gently, his icy blue eyes focused entirely on hers.
Gabe had always had a soft spot for brunettes. He watched as she flushed red and half-turned away from him, sweeping her long her over her shoulder. "Hey, hey," Gabe reached out and gently held her arm, not wanting her to walk away out of embarrassment. "I've done a lot worse than that - trust me." He grinned, letting his hand drop back to his side. His mind flitted back to the time when he'd been pushing a barrow full of muck out of Wayward's field when the stallion had came up behind him and pushed him with his nose. Caught unaware, Gabe had tripped forwards and fell face first in to the wheel barrow. He had never showered so thoroughly as he did that night. Chuckling softly at the memory, Gabe swept his hand through his hair, a completely subconscious action.
sorry it's a little short! <3 |

Aria Rose She was stopped by his hand. His words filled her ears as it took her a moment to comprehend them. Hurt? No, her bottom would recover soon enough. This was when she realized that no words had even come out of her mouth. A small shake of her head was given "No, I'm fine, thanks" A shy smile was given to him, something she did not do a whole lot, but his eyes were so intoxicating to her. They were gorgeous and she could feel her cheeks began to flush again and she turned her head a little, trying to avoid letting him see, but it was impossible. After a few moments she came back to her regular skin color and looked at him again. The faint smile rose to her lips again as he spoke of something being much worse. "Pretty sure running into someone and falling in front of people is embarrassing enough for me" Her words were still fairly quiet and short. Her shyness still showing evidence.
Aria continued to watch him for a moment as he seemed to get lost in a memory for a second, then came back to reality. The chuckle sort of set her aback. Was he laughing at her or the memory. She wasn't really sure, but decided it had been the memory. An awkward silence sort of came around them for a moment. "Umm, I better get going, you are probably busy..." lyrics stated and trailed off once again. She glanced at the door then back at him. If she hadn't been so shy she maybe would have asked him to walk around the mall or something with her, but she just didn't have enough confidence to do so. His icy blue eyes were again, intoxicating and she had just decided to wait and see what he had to say before she made her way to the door. Maybe he would ask her to join him, or maybe he would be the usual and say okay and leave her to her business and be on his merry way. But really she hoped that he would ask her to stay. A few small brunette tresses fell near her brown eyes once again and she gazed at him through them, trying hard not to seem like she was staring, though it was hard not to.

The sun had just began to edge up over the horizon, painting the sky a thousand shades of red, orange and pink. A thin mist still clung to the land, not ready to give up it's hold just yet, and Gabe's shoes were soaked as he scuffed his way through the dew-laden grass. The doe had been asleep when he first saw her, curled up on the ground and breathing very softly. At the sound of his footfalls, her head had snapped upwards and she struggled to her feet, her spindly legs trembling as Gabe approached. He wasn't entirely sure why the girl reminded him of this moment; it was most likely linked in with the way she acted kind of like a trapped animal. Gabe didn't tend to go for shy girls - he preffered a bit of confidence in a woman - but there was something about the innocence that intrigued him.
Not wanting to become totally absorbed with his thoughts, Gabe shook his head slightly as if to dispel the flashback. His gaze flickered back to hers, and he smiled gently as she spoke. He noticed that her cheeks were still flushed with colour, and as if sensing his eyes on her, she turned away to compose herself. Gabe didn't want to assume that her behaviour was because of him, but was - in truth - feeling quite smug about it. She had a smile that lit up her entire face, and he couldn't help but grin back. "Trust me, falling face first into a wheelbarrow full of horse muck is worse." Gabe winked, chuckling softly under his breath. As the girl suggested leaving, his brow furrowed. "Hey, don't leave!" He murmured. "I don't even know your name yet." He grinned sheepishly. I'm Gabriel - but just call me Gabe. What's your name?" He prompted, looking into her chocolatey eyes. no notes :] |

Aria Rose
His words were calming to her, but her shyness still seemed to be lingering. She wasn't even sure why she was being so shy, but it was just in her nature to be that way. It had gotten better as she aged, but being in a new place with new people, it started coming back, but as the male before her kept speaking and seeming to actually want her here, her shyness was slowly diminishing. She gave him a smile that touched her eyes and a small laugh as he spoke about falling into a wheel barrow of manure. She shifted her weight back and turned to look at him as he told her to stay."Ok, I guess you win this one" lyrics were soft still, but not nearly as nervous. She caught his little wink and she looked down at her feet for a second. Not many people did that too her. She wasn't exactly sure how to take it. her gaze met his again, every once in awhile glancing around, but always found their way back to his.
She caught his name and he wanted her's. Gabe His name rang in her ears and she was glad to have finally received it. "Aria" She paused for a moment and reached out her hand "Aria Slykhuis" She didn't get his last name, but it was just in her nature to give her's. Where she was from, people knew last names. If you had the right name, you had the upper hand in just about anything. Receiving special treatment, always making the sports teams, always winning shows, all because you had the right last name. Aria was one of those people. Back home, she had the right last name, but here it meant nothing. She bit her lower lip for a moment. Have you always lived here? In Cedar Creek?" Lyrics spoke out to him. This time her chocolate brown eyes never leaving his. A faint smile was plastered to her facials as she spoke. Curious to hear if he was new like her, or if he had just always been here. Words: 323 Tagged: Gabe Muse: Alright Notes:Sorry for shortness! Haven't been very museful lately! Last name pronounced: slyk house (so long y like sly add the ka sound then just house)
