LIKES:
- Women

- Seems to go after things he can't have
- Pineapples
- Riding [[Dressage mainly, some cross country]]
- Hanging out with friends, playing games [[Who says you have to grow up?]]
- Family and Friends. He may not act like he 'truly' cares about them, or appreciates them, but he does.
DISLIKES:
- Dogs
- Know-It-All's or Show-Off's. Even though he can be one. But, everyone is a hypocrite about something...

FEARS:

- Losing his chance with --- ANDREWS
STRENGTHS:
- Witty and strong-willed
- Plays a mask very well to hide true emotions he doesn't want others to know about
- Has a 'way' with horses so to speak
- Good looks are always a plus.
WEAKNESS:
- Riding. Not in that of itself, but his guard is lowered when on or working with horses, and it can lead to him opening up more, or being more revealing when he doesn't want to be.
- When family is threatened. It is hard for Rance to really keep control of himself, and could possibly do something stupid that he, and everyone else would regret later.
- Strawberry Pineapple Milkshakes.
ETC.: Rance, though he is twenty-nine, often acts... younger than his age. People often question his ability to ever grow up and 'make' something of himself. But, truthfully, he is quite happy where he is at. And, coming from a richer background, he hasn't had to really work or go out and support himself on his own thanks too his relatives, who like to support all members of their family and provide for them.
When most people see Rance, they either like him, or hate him. There isn't usually a middle. His charms, and wit, and joking nature can come off as either really nice, or really stupid and immature, and nothing but non-sense. But, this doesn't effect Rance in the least. He has changed for anybody yet, so why would he now? Peoples opinions of him don't matter, as, he does have a lot of self-confidence, which can also make him come off as cocky or arrogant at times.
IT'S ALL IN THE PAST.

HISTORY:
On a hot summer night in June, the wealthy Montgomery family gave birth to their only son. Martha wanted more children, but had five miscarriages after that, and Ralph refused to let her adopt and bring 'non-blood' into the family name. It was a disgrace, in his exact words.
So, Martha settled for one little boy, who, soon became rather spoiled. Rance went to a special private school, his parents paid extra money to see him excel in the top of his classes thanks to tutors. Though, Rance was very smart on his own, he just never liked to apply himself. But he went through the school's program very well until he turned fifteen. He had begged his parents to let him attend just normal public school, like every other teenage boy his age. With hesitance, his parents finally agreed. But as it turned out, Rance liked the taste of freedom too much, and he began skipping his classes, partying, hooking up with girls... In fact, when he turned eighteen, despite his mother's crying, and his father's threatening to disown him of his existence and take his name from the Will, the boy loaded up his car and headed to the West coast, where he spent two years, falling into trouble, even going to jail. His hair was long and shaggy, he was rather thin, losing the muscular build he had, and he could have been a father. But, when you are nineteen, you don't care about that stuff. And, he had been cheated on by a girl, so it was a fifty-fifty shot.
But with no money, and tired of living that life, Rance found his way back to Tennessee, where, bless his mother's heart, he was at first unrecognizable and she cried for weeks after he first came home, and Ralph wouldn't say a word to him. The man knew his son need to learn responsibility and work, so he dropped him off in Cedar Creek with his brother and family to work at the rescue center for them. Rance had his vehicle taken away, as, Ralph took his name off of it, and he had no choice but to earn a living under the other Montgomery's. It turned out that Rance found a love for horses he never knew he had, and he became best friends with the younger blonde, his cousin, who seemed to be glued to him at the hip.
Before long, Rance had enough money finally saved up to buy his own vehicle, a late model Silverado pick-up. And he was slowly making his way up the totem pole at the Rescue Center. And then of course, when life was going great, things took a downward spiral when a barn hand at the Kingston well famed and elite stable was murdered... and someone from the Montgomery household was blamed!
