Can She Get Along With Others?~Tally/Open

JJ jumped up to Eagle’s back and looked back at Raina. “Are you two ready to meet Destynamarie?” She asked as she patted the sides of their necks. The horses neighed softly and JJ nudged Eagle forward and into a gallop, Raina stuck close to his side. Together the trio made their way toward New Hope. JJ had an idea that she wanted to try. She’d set up a corner of one of the pastures with a few loose pieces of fencing. She made sure that Destyn would have plenty of room to get away from Eagle and Raina, JJ wanted to see if she could put the trio in the same pen. JJ led her two horses down her secret connecting path between Cedar Creek and New Hope and put her other two horses into the pasture and then she made her way toward New Hope’s barns to collect Destyn and bring her out.

Smiling, JJ made her way into New Hope and gathered up Destyn’s purple halter and lead, then she made her way to the stall of the blue roan mare, went through the hour long process of gaining her trust and then carefully, JJ reached up with the halter and put it on the mare’s face. Soon, JJ was starting to try and lead the mare, from the stall. Destyn was not so very sure she wanted to walk out with JJ yet. She refused and JJ gave her slack, she retreated into the stall. Her eyes were wild.

JJ reached out to pull the stall door back shut and she started a T-touch massage on the mare. Soon, it seemed Destyn would be fine, so JJ opened the door again, murmured to the mare and then lead her from her stall. Down the aisle, and out toward the pastures where she had left Eagle and Raina. The mare was walking with JJ perfectly, and on top of that JJ saw she was actually interested in the grass and the surroundings. The mare was thin sure, but JJ was sure that she would be okay grazing on a little bit of grass. She saw Eagle and Raina in the pen she’d made and smiled.

Halting the blue roan, JJ patted the side of her face and murmured to her, “Do you want to go in with them? Or should we wait for Tally?” The mare pushed her face into JJ’s shoulder as Eagle and Raina approached the fence before JJ and Destyn, and they reached out to try and greet Destyn. JJ felt her pulling on the rope and let her back away so that she could be comfortable. Then JJ looked around, she knew that Tally should be arriving soon and then she could work the trio together, perhaps get Destyn to the point that others didn’t scare her. Please hurry Tally. JJ thought as she looked between her horses.

The phone had seemed to be ringing off the hook all morning. Tally couldn't believe they were so busy today, but then again they had the most clients they'd had in months. That meant dealing with more horses and more people. Most times the horses were brighter than the people, to Tally's exasperation. Right now she was on the phone with one of those people, who was inquiring about the type of feed her horse was on. Tally tried to remain patient. She didn't want to sound like she was being rude, but she had things to do. The blonde glanced at the clock and realized that she was supposed to meet JJ out in the pastures in just under a half an hour. Thinking of nothing else, she blurted out an excuse. I'm sorry Ms. McRory, one of our horses just got out. I'm going to have to go after him, I'll try calling back this afternoon. She did her best to sound panicked and the woman let her go. Tally ran upstairs, threw on her barn clothes and dashed out of her house.

She slowed down as she passed the barn. She ducked inside to see if Destyn was there. The mare was gone. This was good, it meant that JJ had gotten her out on her own. Tally grinned to herself. That was progress in and of itself. She paused outside the barn and looked around before spotting the younger woman in the distant pastures. JJ had Destyn by lead and was holding her at a fair distance from her other two horses. This should be interesting.

Tally carefully walked over, making her presence known so as not to spook anyone. Morning everyone! she called out quietly, taking in the others reactions. The last thing anyone would need was to have Destyn get spooked. Then they'd have a real runaway horse.

Jordyn watched as Eagle's ears twitched toward his left and then his head turned and JJ followed his eyes with her own, falling on Tally just as the young woman spoke, Morning everyone! JJ waved and smiled and then held on as Destyn got a little jumpy at the sound of Tally's voice though she hadn't spoken too loudly and JJ's quick wave of greeting. Eagle and Raina nickered happily at Tally as she came closer and JJ smiled as she felt the pull on the rope lessen just a tiny bit as Destyn looked at the new person there.

Smiling a little JJ looked at Destyn as she gently nudged her shoulder. "I don't think I want to trust you to stay close by if I let go of the rope Destyn." The dapple grey snorted a little and pawed the ground then moved toward the other two behind the fence. JJ smiled as she watched and then carefully ducked under Destyn's head, setting off a brief round of spookiness as the mare moved back away from the fence and dropped her muzzle to the grass and cropped up a few quick mouthfuls before looking from the woman on her left to the woman on her right and then back to the other two horses behind the fence.

JJ smiled toward Tally and spoke softly as Destyn moved once more toward the fence and the other two equines, "This was more than I was expecting to see today." JJ told her watching as the blue roan actually started grazing on the grass outside the fence, almost directly in front of Eagle and Raina. The pair were reaching out over the top rail to try and nibble her in greeting but she was being fairly good at keeping just out of reach of them.

Laughing softly JJ touched Destyn's shoulder, just to see what she would do. The blue roan snorted in surprise and tossed her head up, shoulder twitching a little but she didn't try to bolt. Laughing softly again, JJ watched as Destyn, now with her head up reached toward the offered muzzles of Eagle and Raina and whickered softly as she turned away again, returning to grazing still out of reach of the pair but a little closer to them both. "I think Tally that within a day, she be glad to be with those two." JJ said with a smile as she looked from the trio of horses to Tally.
