PERSONALITY Red is a sweet heart. He is laid back, one of those horses that has been there done that type of deal. He loves to chase cattle. Reining and cutting are his favorites. He does have some get up and go when you ask him, but he would rather just be on the trails and chilling along or out sorting cattle. Any one can ride him, whether they are beginners or advanced. He lopes, side passes, pivots, turns on a dime, does anything you ask of him.
He loves to get attention, whether it is just grooming or going out for a long ride. He is one of those horses that will meet you at the gate and is always ready to go. There is never a need to ground him work before getting on him. He isn't the horse that bullies other horses out in the pasture, but will fight back if he has to. He can hold his own.
HISTORY Red was an ex-race horse. He was too slow and laid back for the track so he was sold for the rock bottom price of 5 grand. Johnny's parents saw him at the sale and fell in love with his color and was even happier with his personality. They had been worried that he would be crazy because he was an OTTB, but surprisingly he wasn't! He loaded up fine and was headed out to his new home. Red was then retrained sort cattle and do some rodeoing. He found his new calling and his new loving home.
